BluGlass' breakthrough was the discovery of a method of removing the contamination that had previously prevented film growth from producing good quality GaN.

This remote plasma chemical vapour deposition (RPCVD) technique has been improved by BluGlass staff through a fundamental understanding of the physics of the nitrogen plasma used during film growth.
