AN INTRODUCTION TO RPCVD 

BluGlass’ Managing Director, Giles Bourne, introduces the company’s proprietary remote plasma chemical vapour deposition (RPCVD) technology. He explains why RPCVD’s ability to produce material at a lower temperature can improve the performance and cost of compound semiconductors used in the production of light-emitting diodes (LEDs), micro-LED, power electronics and laser diodes. He discusses the rationale for the company’s move into a directo-to-market model for laser diodes and the commercialisation path for this initiative. He gives an update on the company’s other commercialisation initiatives before highlighting the key milestones that investors should look for over the next 12 months.

CASCADE LED DEMONSTRATION

A preliminary demonstration of the electroluminescence from a two-colour (green on blue) cascade LED using BluGlass’ RPCVD active-as-grown tunnel junction technology.  By Modifying how the electrical contacts are made we can selectively switch between either the bottom LED (blue) or top LED (green).
